Yuri Sagakure[]

Yuri is Yui's older sister, with the two originally sharing a close relationship when they were in the real world. However, Yui's desire for more freedom in the Neighboring World and a life goal separate from her older sister led to Yuri killing Yui for trying to leave home. The current robotic Yui models were made in the deceased sister's image in an attempt to create a suitable replacement.

The Mass Production type Yui are unable to feel emotions, and thus they aren’t able to form a proper relationship with Yuri. They instead obey her every command without question.

The Best Model Yui differs vastly from her mass production peers. When questioned by Hibiki on whether she liked Yuri, Yui appeared deeply troubled by the question. Even after she affirmed that she did like Yuri, it was evident that she had held back from revealing more. Furthermore, Yui reveals that when faced with the choice between cheering on her sister and the other Dominions or cheering on Kurumi and Hibiki, Yui chose to support the latter two.

Yui, while also obeying Yuri’s orders, is often in discomfort when doing so, especially if the commands are of a more questionable nature. She is treated like a robot by her older sister and evidently displays a level of discomfort towards Yuri’s comments and advances on her.

After Yuri’s death, Yui remarks that Yuri was a terrible person and that she had no fond memories of her or their relationship. She was deeply hurt by Yuri’s selfish, cruel behavior toward her and the other Mass Produced Yuis. Nevertheless, Yui does say this while on the brink of tears, indicating that her feelings towards her sister might be more complex than what she is outwardly confessing.

Despite their complicated history while Yuri was alive, Yui ultimately still chose to read Yuri's will and follow her instructions to prepare for war in Chokmah. When questioned on why she chose to believe in anything Yuri said, Yui replied that the will included a section offering Yui free will over what to do with the information inside. As such, Yui felt a strange compulsion to believe in her sister one last time.

Kareha Banouin[]

Yui was sent by her older sister to work for Kareha. Despite the implications that this would mean being a spy, Yui remained respectful and followed Kareha's commands to the letter.
