Unnamed Parents[]

In the old timeline, Origami lost her parents to a Spirit five years before the story began. This event traumatized her, leaving her with little emotion other than a vengeful hatred toward Spirits. Ellen bribes her into joining DEM with classified information about that day and the chance to avenge her parents, showing that her grudge matters more to her than her feelings toward Shido, whose near death at DEM’s hands initially repulsed her from aiding the organization. After unwittingly becoming a Spirit herself, Origami sought Kurumi to send her to the past and prevent her parents’ death, only to learn that she accidentally killed them herself in the midst of her rage toward <Phantom>. This revelation breaks her mentally, and the subsequent despair pushes her into an unresponsive state as she enters her Inverse Form.

A new timeline is created when Shido saved her parents, allowing her to continue living with them for a year before their demise in a car accident. Because of this, Origami is far more emotionally stable, and while she still joins the AST to prevent deaths like what she assumed happened to Shido, the lack of a personal grudge led to her questioning the need to kill Spirits. The Old Timeline Origami continues to feel guilt over accidentally killing her parents, even if the event has been undone, and laments having to live with that burden after Shido saves her. After her sealing, she continues to live in the house where she grew up with memories of her parents instead of moving to the Spirit mansion.

Shido Itsuka[]

Thanks to Shido traveling back in time with Kurumi's <Zafkiel>, Origami knew about Shido even before he met her. She is determined to be Shido’s lover and will use any chance she gets to make her relationship with Shido more intimate. Her love for him is quite unusual, employing several blunt and direct ways of seduction. Yet at the same time, she follows most of his requests with a high level of trust and has showcased deep signs of concern for him in her own way. Due to her stalking habits, Origami has detailed information about Shido from his ID data to his health check-up report.

Origami is very forward to the point of perversion with her attraction for Shido and tried seducing him with actions like buying a new bed, making herself deliberately vulnerable, giving him a combination of strong energy drinks, and preparing traps to entice him to her. Shido is normally shocked and speechless at her actions; however, after Origami became a Spirit in Volume 10 and Shido was told to make her fall for him, he displayed complete awareness of her carnivorous nature and stated that he was worried that he'd be devoured by her instead.

Origami has also proven to value Shido's life greatly, even willing to fight the DEM, and going so far as to steal a dangerous CR-Unit from AST and combat them specifically to protect him, when they planned to capture him. However, her conflict against the Spirits is a more complex matter; while Shido has tried to make Origami try to speak to Spirits in a peaceful way, Origami declined because the deaths of her parents were caused by the actions of a Spirit, and because of her mission as a member of the AST.

During Volume 11, it was revealed that the source of Origami's feelings for Shido were not romantic, but instead was a severely high level of emotional dependence because of a promise that Shido (having traveled back to the day of the fire 5 years ago and transformed into his 11-year-old self) made to keep her from falling to despair at seeing her parents' death.

Shido said to the young Origami of that time that he would take all of her feelings of sadness, anger, and hatred, and that she can use him if she ever finds herself unable to do anything on her own that she can use him however she likes, and that she can even hit him as many times as she wants, as long as that will keep her from sinking into despair. These words cause young Origami to cry into his arms, and shedding her tears, proclaiming that she will leave all of her tears, smiles, and laughter to him, but will keep all negative feelings like anger and hatred towards the "Angel" that killed her parents, and tells him to keep her feelings until the day she kills the "Angel".

Upon recovering from her Inversion in the new timeline, she told Shido that before she didn't truly love him and used him as a reliance. However, her real love for him had begun to blossom during their date. Origami has since grown to be truly in love with Shido, rather than just dependency. Nevertheless, her unhealthy methods of flirting with him have not died down, and her perverse behavior leads to her frequently taking control over the body that should belong to her new timeline self.

During the one-year timeskip, Origami took Shido to a mock wedding event, which she would later joke was official. While encouraging him to continue holding his feelings toward Tohka, she vows to prove herself as his ideal wife. She also chose to attend the same university as Shido, despite recommendations of qualifying for a better school.

New Timeline Origami[]

After transferring to Raizen High, the new Origami was stunned by the resemblance between the Shido and the boy that saved her parents (she was unaware that they are one and the same). She then concluded that the present Shido was the other person's younger brother. Shido then arranged a meeting with the new Origami to discuss about her in the new timeline. They talked about how her parents died four years ago in a traffic accident, and the reasons why she joined the AST (being inspired by the past Shido's action of saving her parents and to protect people from the Spirits), but retired due to the frequent blackouts that she suffered recently.

Afterwards, Shido more or less asked her out on a date so they can talk more, which she agreed to despite being embarrassed. For the Origami of the new timeline, her feelings were complicated due to subconsciously inheriting the original Origami's memories after becoming a Spirit in the new timeline. This caused her to be attracted to not only Shido's looks, but also his smell and touch. The new Origami develops genuine feelings for Shido, which leads to concerns about the influence of her old timeline self after the latter's mind is restored from Inversion. In Ren Dystopia, the New Timeline Origami also has considerable lust toward Shido, but any perverse displays are more restrained than her other self because of her greater sense of shame and concern for Shido's comfort. During the Spirit battle royal, the new Origami would take over after the old Origami was temporarily knocked out by Mukuro and win the fight in her stead, no less determined to confess her love toward Shido.

Origami initially addressed Shido by his full name, who in turn addressed her by her surname, but she requested that they start using each others' first names out of envy that he did so with Tohka. Meanwhile, her new timeline personality always addresses him as "Itsuka-kun", even after he invited her to address him by first name.

The two versions of Origami met while the old self was Inversed. After exchanging memories of their divergent timelines, the New Timeline Origami tried to help the old Origami move past her guilt and despair over accidentally killing their parents and destroying Tengu City in her timeline, but her efforts were unsuccessful until she received external help from Shido. Once they start inhabiting the same body, the New Timeline Origami is appalled by her old self's perverse behavior toward Shido, to the point of physically restraining her own body when the old self tries to take advantage of Shido's Reiryoku high. When the New Timeline Origami resurfaces while the old Origami's memory of Shido is sealed by Mukuro, the former insists on helping to stop the conflict between Mukuro and Inverse Tohka so that she won't displease her other self by leaving the task to Shido alone.

Tohka Yatogami[]

Origami initially sees Tohka as an enemy, a love rival, and an annoying "idiot" who gets in her way with Shido. Origami shows little respect for her as the quarrel between them as a Spirit and an AST member remains unsettled despite the fact that Tohka's powers are sealed. Origami does not trust her and has tried to file a report verifying her as the Spirit Princess. However, a combination of Ratatoskr's superb background cover identity and Tohka's current sealed status complied Origami into an unsteady non-hostile state towards Tohka.

Shido has noted that even though they are different in nearly every way possible, they are also similar in many ways, mainly their shared stubborn nature, desire to protect Shido, and their strong jealousy for any woman who tries to seduce him.

In Volume 10, it is revealed that Origami actually began to get used to living with Tohka and the other Spirits. Enraged by this, she decided to defeat Tohka and the other Spirits once and for all and return her life to normal. During the battle, Origami was able to defeat Tohka, Miku, and the Yamai sisters in their limited-release Astral Dress. However, just as Origami was about to finish them off, Tohka regained her full power and defeated her. This resulted in Origami accepting Metatron from Phantom in order to gain power.

After <Phantom> turned Origami into a Spirit, she obtained many long-range abilities which made her a bad match-up for Tohka who mostly uses close-range abilities. During the battle between the two Spirits, Tohka asked Origami if they could perhaps find a way to understand each other but Origami told her that she would reject all Spirits, including herself after every other Spirit is dead.

At the end of Volume 11, their relationship has improved slightly; Origami no longer considers Tohka an enemy and starts addressing her by her first name rather than her full name. She still, however, considers her a rival when it comes to Shido's affection. As revealed during Volume 12, she still constantly tries to beat her at everything, even though she refuses to admit it.

Despite their fierce rivalry, as Tohka was about to disappear due to Mio's Sephira Crystal fading away, Origami grieved for her as she passed on. In addition, as shown in Volume 21, Origami continued to honor their rivalry even after her death, even telling Shido that her feelings for him would disappear if he allowed himself to forget about Tohka. She shares a happy moment with Tohka after her revival, despite a brief, typical squabble over Shido.

New Timeline Origami[]

In the short story "Origami Counseling", the New Timeline Origami displayed subconscious urges to view Tohka as a love rival for Shido and gave Tohka instructions to humiliate herself in front of Shido while believing that she was giving simple relationship advice. Similar to the perverted behavior toward Shido influenced by her old timeline self, she was completely oblivious to her culpability in Tohka's suffering.

The New Timeline Origami has also interacted with Tohka's Inverse Form. Both were awakened after Mukuro had sealed their original forms' memories of Shido. While frightened by Inverse Tohka's hostility, she first attempts to stop the Inverse Spirit and Mukuro from violently clashing over Shido by having them contend for Shido's affection in a different way. When they do inevitably clash, the New Timeline Origami intervenes by taking on Inverse Tohka herself.

Kotori Itsuka[]

Origami considers Kotori to be her future sister-in-law. However, after seeing Kotori's Spirit form in Volume 4, she immediately rushed to use forbidden technology in an attempt to kill her. This was due to mistakenly believing that Kotori was the Spirit who had killed her parents 5 years ago. Their next major interaction was during Volume 12. Suspicious of Kotori's unusual behavior, she followed her and once again threatened to kill her when interrogating her about the plans to kill Shido. However, she did show sympathy for Kotori after seeing her crying face, noting that she was still a good sister after Kotori made a self-deprecating comment.

During the Spirit battle royal, Origami acknowledges Kotori as a top-tier threat due to her destructive impulses no longer inhibiting her. She even goes so far as to praise Kotori's sheer firepower as the greatest among the competitors. Despite this, Origami still boldly accepted Kotori's challenge and fought directly against her for the right to confess to Shido.

Yoshino Himekawa[]

Despite Yoshino's pacifistic nature, Origami was relentless in trying to hunt her down as a Spirit, even trying to crush her with debris after she had sheltered herself inside her blizzard dome. After Yoshino was sealed, she wasn't above trolling her by claiming swimsuits were an anti-Spirit weapon. However, her opinion of Yoshino improves after Origami had her own Spirit powers sealed. During the battle royal, Origami deemed Yoshino a mid-ranged threat due to having the strongest defenses among the Spirits competing. However, this designation would come to backfire, as Yoshino defeated Origami by catching her off-guard while she was exhausted, winning the competition in the process.

Kurumi Tokisaki[]

Origami immediately displayed animosity toward Kurumi the moment she openly declared herself to be a Spirit in their classroom. She was particularly shocked when Kurumi returned unharmed, despite having personally seen Mana kill her the other day. This eventually led to a boiling point when Origami confronted Kurumi about her intentions for Shido, but the AST Wizard was subsequently suppressed by Kurumi, who decided to save devouring Origami for a later date.

Once Origami became a Spirit, she came to Kurumi for help in order to travel back in time to five years ago during the Tengu fire. Despite technically still being enemies at the moment, Origami went so far as to uncharacteristically beg for Kurumi's assistance due to the possibility of saving the lives of her parents. Nevertheless, Origami still distrusted Kurumi afterward, remaining cautious and vigilant when the Worst Spirit suddenly transferred back to their school.

During the Spirit battle royal, Origami viewed Kurumi as among the three top-class threats due to being the only Spirit competing that had access to two Angels.

Yuzuru Yamai[]

Origami taught Yuzuru her perverse ways of "flirting" with Shido, leading to her being called "Master". Origami would later learn that she was a Spirit, and even try to kill her after joining DEM. After the Spirits help Shido save her in the new timeline, they become close friends.

Miku Izayoi[]

At first, Miku was little more than another target for Origami. As with the other Spirits, Origami's attitude toward her would change for the better after she was saved in the new timeline. She and Miku share a high level of perversion toward Shido, and the idol would help rebuild her stock of Shido merchandise (mostly secret photos of him) that she lost after the timeline was altered.

Mukuro Hoshimiya[]

The New Timeline Origami was the first to interact with Mukuro, as only her memories remained unchanged after Mukuro sealed everyone's memory of herself and Shido. While she opposed Mukuro's possessiveness, she also showed concern when Mukuro grew nauseous over her subconscious memories of her sister. During the Spirit battle royal, Origami apologized to Mukuro before defeating her, as she did not want to hand over the right to confess to Shido.

The Old Timeline Origami entrusts Mukuro with restoring Artemisia's memories and incapacitating her when the Adeptus 2 proves too powerful for Origami to defeat by herself.

Mikie Okamine[]

Origami initially saw Mikie as a burden who could not keep up with her, but she gradually learned to value her as a strong comrade in battle as well as a close friend. When Mikie threatens to kill herself if Origami risks her life to fight DEM for Shido, Origami simply retorts that Mikie would not want to sadden her by doing so.

Mana Takamiya[]

Origami admired Mana's skills as one of the world's top Wizards. She regarded her as a strong ally, while also initially envious of the large gap in capabilities between them. Upon discovering Mana's familial ties to Shido, Origami invites Mana to address her as a sister-in-law due to her self-proclaimed romance with Shido. After being saved by Mana from Jessica's squad, Origami returns the favor when Mana is overwhelmed by Ellen and Jessica by distracting the former.

Artemisia Bell Ashcroft[]

Origami respects Artemisia as one of the world's strongest Wizards. After learning that the <Ashcroft> CR-Units were made with Artemisia's brain, leaving the SSS's ace in a coma, Origami initially prioritized the power to defeat Spirits over Artemisia's well-being. However, she is visibly conflicted and ultimately helps Mikie and the SSS save her.

In the new timeline, Origami is shocked to see Artemisia as DEM's Adeptus 2, not only fearing her as a powerful foe but also viewing her cooperation with DEM as out-of-character. Origami eventually realizes that Artemisia has been brainwashed and tries convincing her to defect from DEM. However, her concerns are brushed off as coming from a deceitful Spirit that must be slain. During their fight in outer space, Origami acknowledges that she is no match for her as only a Wizard and must resort to fusing her Spirit powers with her CR-Unit to even the playing field. After Westcott's death, Artemisia fully regains her old personality and her friendly relationship with Origami is restored to normal.
