Volume 3[]

Kareha, as the Dominion of Hod, attends the emergency Dominion conference held at Tiphereth in the aftermath of White Queen's appearance at Yesod. She talks briefly to Yuri Sagakure, the Dominion of Netzach who supplied the model of Yui Sagakure to serve under Kareha. When White Queen herself gatecrashes the conference, Kareha's first instinct is to defend herself. After the conference, she returns to Hod without looking at her sister Mizuha, who was representing Yesod.

Volume 4[]

Upon Kurumi Tokisaki's arrival at Hod, she goes to meet Kareha. Kareha is unable to offer the opening to Keter that Kurumi requested, saying that she can only allow crossing to Netzach, and only while Hod is at peace. Kareha explains that her forces are fighting a non-violent war against a rebel faction using water pistols. If Kurumi helps end the war, Kareha will let her go to Netzach. However, to do so, Kurumi cannot use <Zafkiel> unless it is also a water pistol. Kareha then imparts with her knowledge of the Neighboring World by drawing a map of the regions. After Kurumi leaves, Yui arrives to inform Kareha of the arrival of Mizuha to Hod. Kareha merely gives permission for Mizuha to wander around. As the decisive battle approaches, Kareha hears about Kurumi's friend Hibiki Higoromo, and how she's already promoted to the title of Major in the rebel faction. Kurumi then wonders if Kareha's friend leads the rebel faction, and promises not to tell anyone whatever she hears from Kareha.

Kurumi returns to Kareha after being eliminated from the war game by Hibiki. Kareha bursts out laughing after hearing that the opposition cut through Kurumi's swimsuit. On the day of the decisive battle, the rebel faction closes in on Kareha, who demonstrates her own fighting prowess. The rebel leader, Retsumi Jugasaki, ultimately delivers the blow that leads to Kareha admitting defeat. Retsumi celebrates victory with a fireworks show, and invites Kareha to watch. After a touching moment between them, Kareha and Retsumi suddenly face gunfire from a member of Retsumi's faction who had armed herself with a lethal weapon. Retsumi pushes Kareha away to take the shots, and Kareha fends off the assailant. Kurumi returns and attempts to revive Retsumi using <Dalet>, but to no avail. This causes Kareha to use her Unsigned Angel to flee.

Kareha is later found near an abandoned house by Yui. By that point, Kareha had almost been fully brainwashed by White Queen. Kurumi arrives and has to fight her. Kareha ultimately loses when a tree trunk falls on her from behind, and is about to accept her fate, but Kurumi fires a <Dalet> to heal Kareha, and they set off to find Hibiki, who is with Mizuha and the fallen Retsumi. Using the method she described to Kurumi before, Hibiki connects Kareha to Retsumi's mind. After leaving it, Kareha notices that Retsumi has come to, and teases her. Kurumi isn't certain that Kareha will stop becoming an Empty, and later on during a private conversation with Kurumi and Hibiki, Cistus claims that nothing can be done about it, and all that they can do is watch over Kareha. Before they sleep, the four of them talk about love, and Kareha implies that she is in love with Retsumi, to which Retsumi runs away embarrassed and Hibiki chases after her.

The next day, after Hibiki convinces her, Retsumi asks Kareha out on a date, and she accepts. During the date, when Retsumi asks who Kareha is in love with, Kareha responds with an admission to being forced to love White Queen, but ultimately wanted to be with Retsumi until her very end, even in spite of hurting Retsumi. Kareha cries, knowing that her time is almost up, and confesses her love for Retsumi just as she disappears.
