Samsara of Salvation (救済の輪廻, Kyūsai no Rinne?) is the twelfth episode and the final episode of Date A Live Ⅳ.
Synopsis[]
Kurumi admits to Shido that she doesn't deserve redemption for all the sins committed in her quest to kill the Spirit of Origin. However, she promises that her actions will be undone if her plans succeed. She intends to use Shido's power as fuel for her to travel back in time to kill Mio before she had turned her into a Spirit. Kurumi then strips and offers her body to Shido in order to convince him to relinquish his Reiryoku and life to her. But at that moment, they are suddenly interrupted by a group of Nibelcole clones ambushing them. Kurumi freezes the Nibelcole with the Seventh Bullet Zayin and drags them into her shadow. But much to Shido’s surprise, Kurumi soon collapses from exhaustion.
A clone of Kurumi from five years ago arrives at the safehouse from the shadows and requests Shido to allow the original a moment to rest. This clone confesses to Shido that the original has been using time travel to protect Shido from DEM's constant assassination attempts. DEM has already succeeded in killing him 204 times. The weird sensation Shido felt on the high school rooftop, and the dream of being murdered by the Nibelcole were all past successful murder attempts. In each loop, Kurumi retrieves the Sixth Bullet Vav from Shido's corpse and uses it to send her mind back to the past. The original Kurumi soon wakes up, and she angrily departs after denying any altruistic goal from saving Shido so many countless times.
The original Kurumi then interrogates her clone on the reason why she exposed everything, but soon she reacts with embarrassment when the clone states that even Shido would feel gratitude and affection for saving him so many times. As she and her clones reevaluate their plans, they stumble upon Phantom, the mysterious entity that has been creating more Spirits. Phantom states that she has merely come to offer her advice, but Kurumi retaliates with a surprise ambush from her clones. The barrage of gunfire successfully removes the mosaic surrounding Phantom, revealing the enigmatic Spirit’s true identity as someone looking identical to Reine Murasame. Coming to realize what this means, Kurumi angrily states there is no hell deep enough for her as she engulfs her into their shadow.
Meanwhile, Shido returns to Ratatoskr's headquarters and informs the Spirits about Kurumi's actions. He then determinedly states his own intentions to save her; all the while another Reine is there watching over them.
