Summary[]
Asahi is Mukuro's adoptive sister whom she loves until Mukuro is turned into a Spirit. Mukuro's newfound powers caused that love to turn into hatred and fear due to her being unable to comprehend the supernatural power Mukuro used in an attempt to monopolize her family's love. After regaining her memories, Asahi expresses great remorse for what happened. Although she knows it will never be like before, Asahi gives Mukuro her best wishes before they head their separate ways.
Appearance[]
Asahi has long straightened hair that reaches up to her shoulders. When reuniting with Mukuro, she is seen wearing oval-shaped earrings and a large winter coat over a sweater.
Personality[]
Asahi originally had a doting personality, treating Mukuro with love because of always wanting to have a younger sibling. However, that love soon turned into hatred and fear due to Mukuro turning into a Spirit, as she was unable to comprehend the supernatural power Mukuro abused to monopolize her love. After regaining her memories, Asahi displays great remorse over how things transpired. Although she knows that things will never be the same again, she still wishes Mukuro the best as she departs.
Additionally, due to the meaning behind her last name, Asahi greatly loves stargazing. While leaving work, she also has a tendency to grumble over how exhausting her job can be at times.
History[]
Background[]
Asahi grew up as the only child of a normal family. When she was young, her parents chose to add a new child to their family through adoption. This would end up being Mukuro. Asahi loved her new younger sister and introduced her to her hobby of stargazing, where she would recite the lore of each constellation to her. She also deeply admired Mukuro's long blonde hair and would regularly style it for her.
One day, however, Asahi took Mukuro on a trip to Tengu Tower with a friend. During the trip, her friend noted that Mukuro was in need of a hair cut and Asahi agreed, seeing that her sister's hair was getting too long. Unbeknownst to Asahi, this statement greatly hurted Mukuro, who was still emotionally scarred from growing up as an orphan, causing her to believe she loved her friend more than her. After the trip, strange things started happening to Asahi and her family, as all their acquittances suddenly started acting as if they did not know who they were. They eventually learned that this was Mukuro's doing, who had become a Spirit and used her newly acquired Angel, <Michael>, to seal away the memories of everyone who knew them in a twisted attempt to monopolize her family's love for herself. However, her sister suddenly gaining and abusing an unfathomable power only terrified Asahi and her parents and they reprimanded her for her actions. Unable to handle this, Mukuro sealed away their memories of her before proceeding to run away after sealing away her own memories and emotions as well.
After becoming an adult, despite her childhood aspirations of becoming an astronomer, Asahi ended up just getting a normal office job, where she often had to work long hours. On the other hand, she would maintain a close relationship with her parents and they go on family outings on a seemingly regular basis. Also, despite <Michael>'s effects, Asahi could still recall her memories of stargazing with "someone" whenever she looked at the stars, although she could not recall who exactly it was.
